Walking on a Fine Spring Day

 Thursday 1st October

Thankfully, unlike last year, our spring has remained pleasant. No soaring temperatures and high humidity. It definitely makes for enjoyable walking.

Our plan today was to enjoy a rural walk and then discover the Mulch Minions on display, a local tourism initiative.

7am - tranquil Albert River view.

We unexpectedly found Mulch Minions early in the morning.

And what a find! Albert River B&B had a wonderful collection, using the farm theme.

Further along the street, the residents were also joining in creatively.

Time for morning tea.

After our delicious morning tea, with a view of the junction of the Logan and Albert rivers in the distance, we set off on the second section of our 12 km walk.

Walking through the canefields.

Down by the Logan River.

Oh no! Four years ago I managed to climb on top with ease. Failure this time round.

In a rural area known for cane growing, it was a surprise to see this healthy field of, we assumed, wheat.

Our walk over, we set off to find more Mulch Minions.

BBQ time.

Going fishing, seen at the bait shop at the boat ramp.

Local cafe.

We were impressed, that even though it was school spring break, the teacher's of Woongoolba State School, contributed.
Botton LHS - at the fish & chip shop.

Fish and chips please! [bottom]

At the bakery.

This minion was spotted regularly, telling us the direction to take to see more.

Sandwiches for lunch, as we relaxed by the water at Jacobs Wells. If only summer were this pleasant!

The icing on the cake of our lovely morning, was a glorious sunset as the moon rose.

I would love to read your comment.

  6. Those mulch minions are quite creative. Before Oktoberfest, someone in Stafford decorated a big alfalfa bale by using a flowered bed sheet and attaching it to look like a mask. They added eyes peeking out. It was a timely and cute idea for 2020.

Of course, I love your final sky photos. Big surprise, right?!
