Grandfather's memoirs are complete. I have been working on them 24/7 this past week. Editing is in progress. Such a relief, as it is only 20 days until I fly to PEI. So much to do in that time. The book has to be complete. On my return, I will only have two weeks before my cousin's 70th birthday. There is to be a gathering of the Cullen Clan at Locheil, Afterlee, to celebrate this milestone and Grandad's selection of Locheil, 124 years ago.
The book
I am about to spend 3 days with friends in the Bunya Mountains, for a taste of winter and hiking. As my blogging and blog reading are so far behind, I am making this a photo dump.
Starting with our last day at Tenterfield. (June 24) Sunny for breakfast, but as we drove to Little Bald Rock, the rain clouds raced towards us. Thankfully, only light drizzle until we had finished. We were finished and on our way home at midday.

Sound up for the Aussie birdsong.
Currawong
Wintery, early-morning walk with "The Green" walkers.
Flowering eucalyptus.
July 2 - A drive to Noosa to a special art gallery. Four small oil paintings of fairy wrens were purchased, a lovely lunch by the water, and a cuppa overlooking the Glasshouse Mts. (volcanic plugs)
8 July - The Hungry Hikers found a new urban trail at Petrie, on the site of the old paper mill. An uplifting walk on a blue-sky winter's day.
Karrawatha Conservation Park with the Gaiter Girls.

Wattle
Melaleuca - Bottle Brush
Seventeen Mile Rock with the Hungry Hikers, coinciding with a yarn bombing project by a local women's group.
July 19 - A chilly winter's day in Warwick for the annual "Jumpers and Jazz" festival. The theme this year was 'Jam'. Amazing creativity as each group created their concept of 'Jam'.
"Submerged", a stunning exhibit in a church hall.
July 30 - Birthday outing for my dear friend, Pam.
July 31 - Luminous, a multicultural lantern parade, Southbank. It is wonderful to be able to just jump on a bus and, in 15 minutes, enjoy so many amazing events. This event was exceptional. Joc and I were as excited as the young children around us.
We arrived an hour early and were able to wander the avenue as the participants prepared. Such a wonderful atmosphere to experience before the parade.
Before and during the parade.
The parade commences.
And my favourites.
And to conclude this catch-up, a koala in a tree just 50 metres from the entrance to The Green. Alas, the photo was taken by another resident and shared. He had moved on by the time I had time to look. Our city has a lot of green space, but not enough for these beautiful creatures. Their numbers are rapidly dwindling.
Thanks for hanging in for the duration.
I would love to read your comment.
