Hiking and Exploring with the Gaiter Girls and Hungry Hikers.

Tuesday 13 January

Coochie Mudlo Island, starting 7am with the Gaiter Girls.

Coffee and cake followed at the Curlew Cafe, before taking the ferry back to to Victoria Point in time to watch the very poigiant movie "Choral".

Wednesday 14 January

The Hungry Hikers  - Tinchi Tamba Wetlands, north side of Brisbane. Another 7am start to beat the heat and sweat!

The tranquil Pine River borders the wetlands.

Landscapes we walked. The roos were there, but unlike last week's Coombabah Wetlands, they were unaccustomed to humans and remained distant or hidden amongst the trees.

Spotting the roos! Overall these kangaroos were much bigger and some quite intimidating. Their numbers appeared to be much smaller, but they were hiding. So different to last week.

This was our 4th visit to these wetlands and this spot is definitely a photo stop! The tide was in, unlike previously.

Other years.

We only covered 7 km here, so drove the short distance to Brighton Beach to cover another 4 kilometres before our brekky/coffee.

It being summer holidays, we had great difficulty finding a table to sit at.

A very special couple of days with my friends.

I would love to read your comment.

  1. Thank you for all the lovely comments on my previous post. This past 5 days have been hectic, helping my cousin organise the Kyogle Giant Pumpkin and Watermelon festival. More of that in my next post.
Yes, our native wildlife is very special and we never tire of seeing them.
