A visit to the Butterfly House with Ben, Nora and Mags.
Mags [sister in law] joined me for my last week with the family. She was last here in 2014 for Kim and Stuart's wedding, so has enjoyed exploring the beautiful countryside and getting to know Ben and Nora.
The Butterfly House is found in the Gardens of Hope at New Glasgow. Open from June to September, this wonderful little greenhouse is home to a mesmerizing collection of tropical butterflies imported from Costa Rica.
It was a pure joy to watch these graceful, delicate, dazzling, fluttering, ethereal creatures and so very special to watch Ben and Nora interact with them.
The previous day, Mags and I had visited Mooney Pond and I was thrilled with this capture of a Viceroy who actually remained still for a long time.
I'm hoping to get back to reading your wonderful blogs soon.
I would love to read your comment.
What gorgeous photos of these amazing and beautiful butterflies. Here in Montreal, Canada, we have the Insectarium where the butterflies fly around. People have said that they sometimes land on them. I would love to have a butterfly land on me! Your photos are such a joy, as is your post and blog. Thank you so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteOh Helen. I can feel that jet lag from here. Take it easy, my friend. These shots are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteOh what a wonderful place to visit! I love butterflies and my camera would be clicking nonstop if I went there. Glad you are home safely.
ReplyDeleteWow! What a marvelous thing to do. I envy you.
ReplyDeleteSuch fascinating creatures!
ReplyDeleteThey seem to enjoy orange juice and beautiful flowers. Who wouldn't? :)
I hope your body soon feels "at home".
