Where to start?
Am I able to reduce the number of photos I would like to share? I doubt it!
I arrived at 20 minutes to midnight on Friday 13 June, having departed Brisbane at 10 am on the 13 June. A journey of 28 hours. Saturday afternoon saw me thrilled to be watching my Granddaughter at her end of year tap dance concert. Sunday saw us amongst the lupins at Rice Point and enjoying a warm sunny afternoon on the beach. I now have some lovely family group photos in this setting, to take home and add to our family wall. I also enjoyed lying in the dandelion filled lawn at Heatherway Drive. A week later it was clover filled.
Monday
My morning coffee was enjoyed looking over Charlottetown's bay, followed by a breath taking walk through Victoria Park, Government House Gardens and nearby streets. I must add here, that every day has been filled with 'breath taking' walks, crystal clear skies and gardens filled with spring magic, that I never experience at home.
I spoke with a volunteer who was weeding, and she told me that as it was such a late spring they were only just planting their annuals.
I fell in love with their lawn of buttercups.
Leafy streets and lovely homes.
My exhilerating day was complete when I watched Grandson Ben, attending his soccer training. His skills for a 7 year old are quite impressive.
Tuesday was a busy day of home chores, but after spending the evening with the family, I took a 20 min drive to Meadow Bank to catch the 9pm sunset. I wasn't disappointed.
Wednesday was my annual catch up with blogger Marie and husband. For the past 3 years, Marie and Rick have hosted walks and picnics for us. Today was my turn to reciprocate.
First stop Hyde Pond, which I had so enjoyed in the autumn, and a spot Marie and Rick hadn't visited previously. There were no birds on the actual pond. The ducks and Canada Geese were taking refuge on the settling pond adjacent. The geese were swimming. The ducks were resting in the grass along the fenceline.
The ducks took flight.
Coffee enjoyed, we walked the length of Hyde Pond, Marie and Rick as thrilled by this setting as I am.
Leaving the pond, the trail wound its way through lovely forest beside West River.
Our lunch stop was at Fort Amherst, with its backdrop of Charlottetown, across the bay.
Fruit blossoms were in abundance.
In the distance, the Island Princess was visiting for the day. A perfect day for disembarking and to enjoy the breath taking beauty of Prince Edward Island. Alas, all is not quite perfect as my darling husband was unable to join me on this visit. He is experiencing lower back pain issues, making the long journey impossible.
I would love to read your comment.
An absolutely glorious series of captures, Helen. Lovely smiling faces and stunning views. Thank you so much for sharing your nature walk.
ReplyDeleteIt is lovely to see your post from the island this time, Helen. I love seeing the island through your eyes! Enjoy the remainder of the week.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I have never been to Meadowbank. You teach me every time you visit.
