Autumn doesn't arrive here with any excitement and wonder of the changing season. The heat of summer just slowly abates to blissful sunny days and our days grow shorter. It has been a very wet autumn, but on the days when the heavens weren't opening, dawn has been enjoyed because of its later arrival. The atmospheric conditions have been such that both our sunrise and sunsets have been spectacular.
On the morning of 10 April, I was quite annoyed at having to visit the bathroom at 5.30 am. This soon evaporated when I glimpsed colour in the sky from below my window blind. On lifting the blind higher, I quickly made the decision to grab my camera and head outside. A blissful 40 mins was then spent watching the sunrise colours paint the sky.
5.28am - first view SE and below NE.
5.32am - spot the Morning Star.
5.36am
5.42am - is that it?
5.47am
The next 4 minutes.
A panorama during that time.
Pool reflections.
I became fascinated at how the light caught the highlighted cloud.
The Ibis commenced their morning flights.
6am - I was finally able to see the actual glow of the sun, just left of centre.
The next 10 minutes saw the arrival of softer shades as the sun made its appearance.
Wednesday 16 April, the Hungry Hikers took a 10 km Brisbane River walk, before relaxing over a long Easter lunch in New Farm Park. It had been a beautiful balmy day, perfect for a picnic. The sunset that followed was the icing on the cake for me.
On spotting this whispy cloud from the kitchen window, all thought of cooking dinner for my husband and son, disappeared. Camera in hand, I was soon siiting on a tree stump beside the golf ponds in total awe of this sunset's sky painting.
5.30pm
Below is just one lovely shot from Easter Saturday morn, as I turned our pool pump on at 6am. All the colour was being saved for Easter Sunday.
Initially [5.30am], the colours were drab.

Then the colour began to arrive.
It errupted dramatically and constantly. I was again in total awe and joy!
I hope you all had a blessed and peaceful Easter. This bunny was given to our son Matthew, 37 years ago when he was 2 days old, Easter 1988.
I would love to read your comment.
