The trail was covered in leaf litter. This giant leaf caught ladybirds attention.

This sign was at the trail head. Ladybird suggests that there should be warning signs for the snakes, wild pigs and leeches.
Evidence of the wild pigs was sadly constant the length of the trail. We heard them rushing away on numerous occasions but thankfully never sighted them in the thick rainforest.
A chat with 2 forest wardens alerted us to this red belly black snake sunning itself beside the track.
Ladybird kept hiding behind and in the amazing flora of this rainforest.
Ladybird agreed with us that the Whitsunday trail is challenging with its steep ridges, but well worth hiking for 9 1/2 hours in this tropical wonderland.
