Morning Surprise

Walking outside to water the herbs after breakfast, and spotting my favourite bird with a mate on the golf
pond.

Times like this I wish I had a DSLR.

Thank you for visiting.

  1. Helen, glad you found my blog, we seem to have a similar view of nature.
When we started farming over 20 years ago now, I too made cards of my photos. For charity, you are welcome to use any of my photos., especially when you acknowledge their origin. I am sorry it is not quite in focus, it is also cropped quite a bit since I have no macro lens.
This is THE most gorgeous shot of pelicans I have ever seen. So often the opportunistic shot surpasses anything we can get when 'looking' for a shot.
My camera is literally my hand extension. I have it with me at all times.

  2. Thank you Arija. The ladybirds are so small that even when I have found them, I've found it impossible to get a suitable shot. Yours looks perfect to me.
Re the pelicans - I had to leave for work and kept taking one last shot as they glided on the pond. This was the last shot and as I pressed they moved towards one another. I thought I had captured them but had to wait until I got home. It was a great feeling.
