19.2.25 - Broadbeach to Southport
We caught the G tram from Helensvale to Broadbeach at 6.30 am. Out to sea the weather looked very ominous, but it made for very pleasant walking as we followed the foreshore, the
12 kilometres back to a Southport station. Fun was had posing with Borobi the Koala and, as we are Hungry Hikers, breakfast was enjoyed watching the surf.
My daily walking regime over the past three months has been dismal. I've tried to up my game during this past week.
Overnight showers left raindrops to be enjoyed.
The birds took over the touch football field for their breakfast feast.
The Great Egret chose to have fish from the ponds.
One of my very favourite birds is the Supurb Fairy Wren. They rarely visit our garden but delighted me with their antics this afternoon. So tiny, but a ball of energy that rarely sits still.
Nature always lifts my spirits.
I would love to read your comment.
Some really ominous clouds but fortunately much fun, exercise, good food and company.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, as always!
Love and hugs from Finland!
Love and hugs back to Finland, especially in these stressful times.
DeleteWow! That sky over the angry sea was breathtaking. I am surprised your walk wasn't interrupted. The raindrops and birds were a beautiful backdrop to your own walks. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteKim, it did rain shortly after we were safely back to the car. The weather Gods have always been kind to the Hungry Hikers.
DeleteLooks like another fun time was had with your friends. I love watching birds and enjoyed your pics of the wren.
ReplyDeleteLinda, never a dull outing with the Hungry HIkers.
DeleteLove how you closed with the birds. I love seeing the species you have there. Another great day with your group!
ReplyDeleteMarie the tiny wrens are here every day at present. Such beautiful time wasters.
DeleteOh those sea scapes are wonderful. I love a stormy sky. B x
ReplyDeleteI love a stormy sky too, Barb but am not looking forward to Storm/Cyclone Alfred later this week.
DeleteIt seems strange to see Ibis out grazing on the grass-- but that's only because we don't have any. I like this post with some new ideas on how you're presenting multiple pictures of things. I'm glad you guys are getting out. It's becoming more difficult for this old guy...
ReplyDeleteThese Ibis look so lovely feeding with the other birds. They are now called 'Bin Chickens' because suburbia has allowed them to feed from overflowing park bins and outdoor cafe tables. Quite a pest in these settings.
