The bonus for me on this visit, has been that the damp, cold, late arrival of 'summer', here on Prince Edward Island, has allowed me to fully enjoy the sensational beauty of spring. A beauty I only see through my friends blogs.
Be warned, spring is about to explode uncontrollably in this post.
It was cold wet and miserable, for most of the time, during our first week. The Canadian Day celebrations on the 1st July, were all but washed out. Then the sun came out and four days later, the islands 31C felt like 36C with the high humidity. Thankfully a storm came through and we have had perfect sunny warm days since.
These photos have been taken on my early morning walks, our several hikes and ramblings in the car.
The lupins line almost every road and field. Just sensational. The rhododendrons were in the gardens in the vacinity of our accommodation and the magnificent peonies were in gardens everywhere. The camera just wouldn't be controlled!
Wildflowers greeted us in the vacant allotment, opposite our lovely home of 3 weeks.
Note the name of the street at the end of ours. [Victoria]
I learnt that ants are needed to help the peony open.
My heart overflows with joy for the beauty and love for the child. I hope your day is also a happy one.
I would love to read your comment.
